Discuss things to do in RTP > FAME + Glamoore List
I'm confused--what is 'fame' ? that website is a dud--no info there... and whats this about capes?

?
FAME is a monthly, sometimes it's at Ringside sometimes it's elsewhere... it's just a laid back pretty relaxed party from what I understand, i haven't made it out to durham to check it out yet.
the site isn't a dud either, it's a link to the mailing list with that crew's event info.
FAME usually has a theme like a costume party, i think a couple months ago it was a pirate party. sometimes it's a fashion show and there are runway models. once it was a ballroom ordeal and was rather expensive.
the capes comment is about circus capes! ringside! duh! :D
i'm sure citysearch has something on ringside, but i used to work there in NYC and they're based out of california and only do write ups for money since that's their business model, so their information usually sucks other than containing an address.
i know a bit more but i'm rambling i'll get back to it some other time

Sorry, I didn't realize capes and circuses went hand in hand. I suppose I've never been to a circus.
I also have no idea what ringside is, and that it referred to a circus. I suppose I am not very well versed in circus lingo.
Speaking of lingo, monthly isn't a noun.. so what does that first sentence mean? a monthly what? party, I assume?
When I said the site was a dud, I meant that it contained no information about what the heck glamoore productions was. I'm not going to join someones mailing list without knowing who or what they are, first. It's like if you spent 10 minutes to set up the site, you could spend 5 more to include a couple sentences about who you are, esp. if you're goin to advertise...
What kind of people go to these parties? Sounds kind of random. Never heard of anything like this before..at least not for common folk.
Maybe if you go to one you can scope it out and report back

monthly isn't a noun... aghaha. i used to promote... monthlys, weeklys, annual events, etc. anything weekly is random but regular, mostly bars trying to bring in low level cash to keep their business sustainable. monthlys you get more planning, more costs, more money. out of town talent, etc. annual events are the big bruhahas, i mostly hold out for those since i'm not too much into the bar scene nor the club scene, unless it's a good club and there's a crew taking over that night that i know. but that might mean driving all the way up to baltimore or even further up or down the coast. last big party i went to was a year ago in baltimore in some huge park on the water, drove all the way up there and slept in my car because the promoters were reliable.
most marketing text for promotions is pure fluff, the content is what drives the distribution. i join any list anytime anywhere and cycle through email addresses like they were candy, i guess that's habit from working in NYC and having to deal with networking so much. it'd be that one invite only party at that really sketchy club that ended up being a ton of suits raiding a cheap venue before the gangs showed up for afterhours parties hahaha
sorry if my post is hardly readable... i have a bit better idea what kind of personality you have now, maybe i can accomodate
from your disposition, i wouldnt go to ringside alone, basically. probably would bring mace too. lol. kidding.
does the extra verbage really help :p

FAME
This Saturday at Ringside
(There's paint all over the keyboard as I type this reminder)
Come out to Ringside this Saturday - support the hottest club and artists in town...oh, and I'll have some paintings hanging around the club, also.
I plan to have an obnoxious amount of work on display and am pricing everything from only $25 to $100 (it's a last-minute "just got engaged and needing support to fund a new life together that includes hot water and electricity in our new little house" [and willing to negotiate prices] art show).
The art is, of course, a mere back-drop to the infamous FAME party that is always guaranteed to be off-the-hook.
Looking forward to seeing everyone there... don't forget to get your capes dry-cleaned.
Thanks, as always, to Stephanie and Glamoore Productions for throwing the most fabulous parties. And a special thanks to Steph for inviting me to participate.
Check out the links and come out, rocking out with your fabu out!!!
